Sometimes you just get lucky
On my first day at the University of Vermont, I made posters with the title “GUITARIST WANTED”. Before I could hang them around the campus, I attended INTRO TO MUSIC THEORY. The teacher asked us to go to the blackboard and take musical dictation. I found myself standing next to a skinny kid who was drawing little sketches of guitars on the blackboard. I asked? “Do you play?” He replied “yup”.
